The Short Version

I bought this two pack of TESSAN European travel plug adapters last September ahead of a trip to Italy and Switzerland, and used it again in January on a return trip to Switzerland. This is a Type C adapter with four AC outlets, two USB-A ports, and one 20 watt USB-C port, and it handled every device I needed charged across both trips without a single issue.

Why I Bought It

Amazon sells this adapter in several plug types, including Type G, Type A, Type J, Type I, Type H, Type E/F, Type D, Type L, and Type N, and which one you need depends entirely on where you are traveling. I chose Type C because it covers the countries on my itinerary, Italy, Spain, France, Portugal, Switzerland, Iceland, and Germany. What sold me on this specific adapter was the outlet count. Four AC outlets plus two USB-A ports plus one USB-C port meant I could charge phones and tablets without juggling a single adapter between devices or waiting in line for an outlet with my husband.

What Is In the Box

You get two TESSAN adapters, each with four AC outlets, two USB-A ports, and one 20 watt USB-C port for fast charging phones, earbuds, and other small electronics. Current price, at time of writing this review, for the 2-pack is $23.99.

The Real Life Experience

This adapter worked exactly as advertised across both trips, easily handling cell phones, laptops, earbuds, and charging an Apple Watch without any hiccups. One important thing to understand going in is that this is an adapter, not a converter. It changes the plug shape so it fits European outlets, but it does not change the voltage. For larger electronics like curling irons, blow dryers, or CPAP machines, you need to check that the device itself supports dual voltage, typically 100 to 250 volts, which is usually printed right on the block where the cord plugs into the wall or into the device. If it does not support dual voltage, plugging it into this adapter can damage the device.

The adapter itself is compact, weighing just 3.48 ounces and measuring 2.24 by3.14 by 2.65 inches. It tucks easily between clothing in a suitcase without taking up dedicated space. The one thing I would change is that the prongs do not fold flat, so it is not quite as sleek to pack as some fully collapsible travel adapters, though it has never actually been a problem for us in practice.

What I Love

The outlet variety is the standout feature here. Having four AC outlets, two USB-A ports, and a fast 20 watt USB-C port on one adapter means my husband and I can both charge multiple devices at once without hunting for a second outlet in a hotel room. It is also genuinely useful beyond hotel stays, since it works just as well on a cruise ship for plugging in AC cords at your cabin outlet.

What I Would Change

The only thing I would change is the non-folding prongs. It is a minor detail and has never actually caused a packing problem, but a fully collapsible design would make it just slightly more compact for travel.

Who This Is Perfect For

This adapter is perfect for anyone traveling to Type C compatible countries, which includes Italy, Spain, France, Portugal, Germany, Switzerland, and Iceland. It is especially useful for travelers bringing multiple devices who do not want to pack a separate adapter for each one, and for cruise travelers who need a reliable way to plug in at their cabin outlet. The one caution I would give anyone is to double check which plug type your specific destination uses before buying, since Amazon sells several different types under this same product line, and picking the wrong one means starting your trip without a way to charge anything.

The Verdict

This adapter did exactly what I needed it to do across two separate European trips, charging everything from phones to laptops to an Apple Watch without a single failure. At $23.99 for a two pack with this many outlets, it is a smart, compact addition to any Europe-bound suitcase.
