The Short Version

I bought this bedside lamp in February to light a cramped guest bedroom for a cruise-bound friend. Six months later, it's still earning its place on my nightstand and now lighting my office workspace. Three color temperatures. Built-in AC outlet. Pull-chain control. Minimalist design that doesn't eat up table space. After taking it apart and reassembling it for a move, it powers on like nothing happened.

Perfect for big or small spaces.

Why I Bought It

We were hosting a married couple and a single friend the night before a cruise in February, and space was tight. Our townhouse had a bonus room we called "the hole in the wall bedroom". It was barely big enough for a full-sized bed with about three feet of walking space on one side. A small wooden table sat next to the bed. There was one standing lamp four feet away from the foot of the bed, and it wasn't cutting it for the space. We needed something small, something that wouldn't dominate a tiny table, and something that would actually light the area. I went to Amazon, searched bedside lamps, and found this one. The black base with linen-colored shade looked modern, minimal and fit the "hole in the wall bedroom" perfectly. The three-color temperature feature caught my attention. But the real selling point was the AC outlet built into the base. The hole in the wall bedroom had limited outlets and they weren't accessible. An outlet on the lamp base meant our friend could charge her phone without hunting for a wall socket.

What Is In the Box

The lamp arrives with a black aluminum base, a linen-colored fabric shade, a pull-chain switch pre-installed, a compatible LED bulb, and a standard AC power cord. Assembly takes longer to describe than to actually do. Current price on Amazon is $15.99 for the black base with linen shade. Amazon offers several color combinations ranging from $15.99 to $21.99, including nickel base with white shade, wooden base with yellow shade, white base with blue or pink shade, black base with black shade, and wooden base with gray shade.

The Real Life Experience

I assembled the lamp in under five minutes. Unscrew the securing collar from the base, slid the shade on, screw the collar back, screw in the bulb, plug it in. Done. The design is so straightforward that taking it apart and reassembling it for our recent move felt like a casual task. Bulb out, collar unscrewed, shade removed, collar back on, shade flipped upside down, bulb placed inside, everything slid into the original box. When I plugged it in at the condo, it powered on as if I'd never touched it.

After our friend left in early March, we moved the lamp to my husband's side of the bed in our townhouse bedroom. For the next five months, we used it nearly every night. Bedroom light switch by the door meant walking across the room to turn it off, or we could just pull the chain on this lamp. The pull chain is responsive and satisfying. One pull turns it on to soft white. Two pulls cycles to warm white. Three pulls cycles to daylight white. Four pulls turns it off. The pattern is consistent and intuitive.

The three color temperatures show real differences in a dark room. Warm white has a distinct yellow tone, almost candlelight quality. Soft white is noticeably brighter than warm white but still feels cozy for evening reading or pre-sleep wind-down. Daylight white is office-bright, the kind of light you'd use for reading fine print or getting ready in the morning. The shift from warm to soft is dramatic. The shift from soft to daylight is noticeable but not as extreme. You can absolutely tell the difference between all three, and the colors stay crisp night after night.

The linen shade filters some light without dampening it. If you removed the shade, the bulb would be much brighter. But the fabric glows nicely and creates well-rounded ambiance rather than harsh direct light. The round base is about an inch thick. The AC outlet sits on the side of that base, circular and always accessible no matter which direction the lamp faces. Our friend used it to charge her phone in that cramped bedroom. Now at the condo, it's become our office light, powering our desk lamp and keeping us from hunting for available outlets.

What I Love

The three-color feature actually works. You're not choosing between settings that all feel the same. Warm white feels like evening. Soft white feels like calm. Daylight white feels like productivity. The pull chain is satisfying and responsive. It doesn't get stuck or require repeated pulling. The minimalist design means this lamp doesn't dominate a small table. The base is compact. The pole is skinny. The shade is proportional. It sits on a nightstand without feeling like an intrusion. The AC outlet is genuinely useful. In a guest bedroom with limited outlets or an office with crowded power strips, having power right on the lamp base changes everything. You're charging devices exactly where you need them. The build quality is solid. Taking it apart and reassembling it for a move proved that this lamp was engineered to be handled. Nothing felt flimsy. Nothing felt fragile. After six months of nightly use, the pull chain is still responsive and the colors are still crisp.

What I Would Change

Nothing. This lamp does exactly what it's supposed to do. If I had to reach, the only thing worth knowing upfront is that the shade filters light slightly. If you're looking for the absolute brightest bedside light possible, removing the shade would help. But the shade is part of the design and it creates the right aesthetic balance. The lamp works in its intended form perfectly.
